MacLEOD, John Maynard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Maynard MacLeod on April 28, 2018 at Macassa Lodge at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Anne for 53 years. Loving father of Joanie Ceci (Mark), John (Tanya) and Brian (Michelle). Adored Papa of Kate, Ava, Blake, and Hank. Predeceased by his parents John and Ella MacLeod and sister Peggy Folland. Dear brother of Ada Gills (the late Dan), Betty MacNeill (Ralph), and Barbara MacNeill (Ronnie). Dear brother-in-law to Ray and Pauline, Joan and John, Danny and Sylvia, Lorne and Heather, Peggy and Roger, Brian and Rosemary, and Elaine and Mike. Uncle Maynard will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Ontario and Prince Edward Island. Maynard was an avid gardener and had great success with his vegetable and flower gardens. He was the recipient of several Trillium Awards. Maynard also enjoyed carpentry and decorated his home with some beautifully finished woodwork. He was very involved with his sons’ hockey teams including the Hamilton-Montague, P.E.I. Goodwill Tournament. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - “William J. Markey Chapel”,

947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Wednesday, May 2nd from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish at Our Lady of Lourdes site, 416 Mohawk Road East, Hamilton on Thursday, May 3rd, 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Ancaster.

A special thank you to the staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their care and compassion. Donations to the hospital in Maynard’s memory would be appreciated by the family in lieu of flowers.
