COLE, Ivy “Isabel” (nee SCOTT) (1939)

In her true fighting spirit, Isabel finally lost to a greater power on May 16, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Her true love “Ken”, held her hand to the end. Beloved wife of R. Kenneth for 59 years. Very much loved mother of Mike (Pat), Tom (Heather) and Susan (Doug). Grandmother of ten (10) and great-grandmother of thirteen (13) and two more that are soon to arrive. Dear sister to Jack (Elsie), Bob (Sara Lou), Tom (Trish) Scott, Karen Fredenburg and the late Marjorie (Norm) Hobbins, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Isabel, Bel, Mom, Grama, Auntie Bel and Mrs. C was a giver. Whether it was time, love, understanding or forgiveness, she had an open door for everyone at any time. Isabel’s pastry shells were her specialty. She put her heart and soul into each of her passions that included baking, cooking, sewing, knitting, water colour paintings, swimming, crossword puzzles, iPad games and listening. She was a traditionalist and all special occasions including calendar holidays, religious holidays, birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated as such. Never was a birthday or anniversary forgotten. Isabel’s spiritual beliefs were shared as an active member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Ancaster. Between September and season’s end, Isabel was found at the front gate every Wednesday for the Glanbrook Rangers Junior C hockey games. Her infectious smile and welcoming greeting was given to every person equally as they entered the arena. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, Ont. from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. JOHN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH 272 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, Ont. at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital -Montreal Unit or St John’s Anglican Church, Ancaster.
