It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Jim on September 1st at the age of 55, as the result of a hemorrhagi­c stroke. Adored husband of 32 years to Laurie (nee McLaren), loving father to Natalie and Alisha (Lucas Moore) and special “Dad” to Brianne Burrough. Cherished son of Norah and Ed, and son-in-law to Helen and the late Mike McLaren. Beloved brother of Patti and Bob Bowman, Colleen and Bruce Campbell and Elizabeth “Bits” Chaisson. Dear brother-in-law to Don McLaren, and Lisa and Jason Bigney. Treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews. Lifelong brother to Dave. Jim was a long-time employee of Arcelor Mittal Dofasco and will be missed by friends and colleagues. He will be remembered as a friend of the Hamilton Girls Hockey Associatio­n, the Mt. Hamilton Youth Soccer Club and the Hamilton Steelhawks Associatio­n. He will be forever remembered by friends in Hamilton, Buffalo, Fort McMurray AB and Florida. Jim’s generosity and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of the lives he touched. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday, September 6th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 20 Idlewood Ave. Hamilton on Friday September 7th at 10:00 a.m. For those wishing to, donations to the Dave Andreychuk Foundation would be greatly appreciate­d.
