With great sadness we announce the passing of Anna Wilk at age 89 on September 1, 2018 at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke, Hamilton. Loving wife of 66 years to Helmut. Devoted mother to Barbara (Jim Ridge and Nancy (Perri) Chapman. Proud Oma to Andrew and Darren Chapman. Predecease­d by her parents, siblings, niece and sisters-in-law. Dearest Aunt of Günter Schütz, Edward (Celia) and Kurt (Kim) Lipsky. Great-Aunt to Rainer Schütz, Matthew (Emily), Justin, Nathaniel, Trevor and Hannah Lipsky. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends. Born in Busovce, Czechoslov­akia she was always curious, loved music, nature and was devoted to her family, friends and church. She was creative, working with her hands, sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, preserving, baking and at the age 14 started her trade as a hairdresse­r/barber. In 1955 she became a Canadian Citizen in Hamilton and worked at Sovereign Pottery. She was a long-standing member of St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, Hamilton. We thank the nurses and staff of Aspen Terrace for their exceptiona­l care and support in her final days. Visitation at Bay Gardens “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m., burial at Grove Cemetery,129 York Road, Dundas. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, Hamilton or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciate­d.
