Hamilton-based Petal to the Metal brings the florals to you

“It literally came about in the middle of the night when I was up with my son. He was about six months old and I knew that I didn’t want to go back to work where I was (at a plant nursery).

“I always wanted to be a florist and I tried to think of a different way to get into the industry.

“It was the middle of the night when I thought of it. I checked Kijiji and there was a truck available. It’s was like it was meant to be.

“When I thought of it I needed a different way to introduce myself into the industry. Food trucks were big. They still are, so this was my idea to turn a truck into a flower shop. I have the shop on wheels and I also have a home studio.

“We do a lot of select curated markets. We have high focus on weddings right now and I love doing them.

“We do custom arrangements, custom orders like silk flower crowns and fresh flower crowns. We also offer a monthly subscription program where we will deliver once a month to your business or home a bouquet of your choice.

“We have done the Queen’s Plate. This was huge. There was a really great turn out and great event to be at.” WHO:
