Another Ward 14 candidate has decided to support a competitor.

Terry Whitehead issued a release Friday announcing he has been endorsed by fellow Mountain candidate Vincent Samuel. The former Conservative federal election candidate had already announced Oct. 5 he would no longer actively campaign, citing personal issues. (It is too late for any candidate to withdraw his or her name from the ballot.)

But Samuel is quoted in the release saying he is supporting Whitehead because he “has a proven track record of getting things done.”

Whitehead is the Ward 8 incumbent but chose to run in Ward 14 after boundaries shifted. The move follows a similar endorsement of Ward 14 hopeful Bryan Wilson by fellow ward candidate Robert Iszkula, who explained his endorsement as a way to try to prevent another incumbent election win. Roslyn French-Sanges is the other candidate vying for the Ward 14 seat.
