HAMILTON REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICES ON NOV. 11
Gore Park will be the main City of Hamilton Remembrance Day service with numerous others in the area, including one at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
Remembrance Day will be commemorated at several events across the city on Nov. 11, including the official City of Hamilton service at Gore Park.
That service, that begins at 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 11. A military parade from the Armouries on James Street will commence at Gore Park at 10:45 a.m.
This year, an LED video screen will project live footage of the service for attendees at the Gore Park service and will be live-streamed by Cable 14 on the station’s website.
A Public Art Project entitled “Poppies in the Park” with students’ art. Students from Ryerson Elementary School in Hamilton will attach artistic poppies to the fences in Gore Park on Friday, Nov. 9, in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.
The Royal Canadian Legion
has invited churches across Canada to ring their bells at dusk (approximately 5:30 p.m.) on Nov. 11 in honour of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The Hamilton Military Museum is offering special programming on Nov. 9 and 10. Visit hamilton.ca/ militarymuseum for details.
