Gore Park will be the main City of Hamil­ton Re­mem­brance Day ser­vice with nu­mer­ous oth­ers in the area, in­clud­ing one at the Cana­dian War­plane Her­itage Mu­seum.

Re­mem­brance Day will be com­mem­o­rated at sev­eral events across the city on Nov. 11, in­clud­ing the of­fi­cial City of Hamil­ton ser­vice at Gore Park.

That ser­vice, that be­gins at 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 11. A mil­i­tary pa­rade from the Ar­mouries on James Street will com­mence at Gore Park at 10:45 a.m.

This year, an LED video screen will project live footage of the ser­vice for at­ten­dees at the Gore Park ser­vice and will be live-streamed by Ca­ble 14 on the sta­tion’s web­site.

A Pub­lic Art Project en­ti­tled “Pop­pies in the Park” with stu­dents’ art. Stu­dents from Ry­er­son El­e­men­tary School in Hamil­ton will at­tach artis­tic pop­pies to the fences in Gore Park on Fri­day, Nov. 9, in recog­ni­tion of the 100th an­niver­sary of Armistice Day.

The Royal Cana­dian Le­gion

has in­vited churches across Canada to ring their bells at dusk (ap­prox­i­mately 5:30 p.m.) on Nov. 11 in hon­our of the 100th an­niver­sary of the end of the First World War.
