Cancelling arms deal a bad idea
RE: PM BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE (NOV. 3)
It is difficult to understand why the death of Jamal Khashoggi should suddenly galvanize the press in the manner that it has given that the brutality of the Saudi regime, hostility to those of different faith, treatment of women, has been known for decades yet The Spectator only now suggests that Saudi Arabia should face consequences, and that the General Dynamics contract should be cancelled.
In effect the only people suffering consequences would be employees of the firm, certainly it would not affect the Saudi’s behaviour or access to weapons.
