Drug bust at Moun­tain home sees two charged

Hamilton po­lice have charged two men af­ter finding $220,000 worth of drugs along with a firearm at a Moun­tain home.

Of­fi­cers from the vice and drug unit ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at the home on Thurs­day and found a “sub­stan­tial amount” of il­licit drugs, a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

In to­tal, po­lice seized 651 grams of fen­tanyl and heroin, 300 grams of co­caine and a non-re­stricted, semi-au­to­matic Si­monov SKS 1945 ri­fle.

As a re­sult of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, a 30-year-old Hamilton man faces drug and firearm charges while a 19-year-old man faces charges for pos­sess­ing a firearm.

The ac­cused ap­peared in court Dec. 7 to an­swer to the charges.
