Hal­ton po­lice seek trio of dis­trac­tion theft sus­pects

BURLING­TON — Hal­ton po­lice are look­ing for a woman and two men al­legedly be­hind a dis­trac­tion scam. The vic­tim was shop­ping at the Forti­nos at 2025 Guelph Line when she was ap­proached by a woman who started talk­ing to her, dis­tract­ing her­from her purse, which she had placed in her shop­ping cart.

The vic­tim found her wal­let was miss­ing. Later that day, two men were caught on cam­era us­ing the vic­tim’s credit card at s Shell sta­tion in Oakville’s Re­becca Street and Great Lakes Boule­vard area. The men are de­scribed as 30 to 35, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches, with short black hair and black beards, and wore black win­ter coats with fur lin­ing and black shoes. One man is 180 pounds; the other 160 (and bald on top). The fe­male sus­pect had dark shoul­der-length hair. She wore a long black coat.
