Halton police seek trio of distraction theft suspects
BURLINGTON — Halton police are looking for a woman and two men allegedly behind a distraction scam. The victim was shopping at the Fortinos at 2025 Guelph Line when she was approached by a woman who started talking to her, distracting herfrom her purse, which she had placed in her shopping cart.
The victim found her wallet was missing. Later that day, two men were caught on camera using the victim’s credit card at s Shell station in Oakville’s Rebecca Street and Great Lakes Boulevard area. The men are described as 30 to 35, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches, with short black hair and black beards, and wore black winter coats with fur lining and black shoes. One man is 180 pounds; the other 160 (and bald on top). The female suspect had dark shoulder-length hair. She wore a long black coat.
