Priorities: Sex-ed 2015 vs. 1998, vs. Math
Perhaps Sam Hammond and Cindy Gangaram would be serving the needs of students better if they worried more about students’ math scores than which year of sex-ed curriculum is followed. There has been much more attention to sex-ed than to math. This shows our inability to prioritize. If the provincial government follows through with the implementing of math testing for teachers it would be a step in the right direction. A second improvement would be the removal (firing) of any teacher who twice has classes fail to meet the average. For those teachers who would suggest this is unfair as some classes have more ability than others, please think of people in industry whose taxes pay your salary and are trying to compete against Chinese wages.
