It’s a wet weekend and whether you stay inside or brave the elements, here are six things to do in Hamilton and area.

ABBAMania

Abba fan? Abbamania is described as the world’s No. 1 production of Abba, where studio musicians recreate Abba live in concert. The show in our neck of the woods features production­s on Friday at 8 p.m., in Burlington at Burlington PAC Main Theatre, 440 Locust St.; and on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., at Brantford’s Sanderson Centre.

Wellness market

A new wellness inspired market is happening in Waterdown this weekend. Terra Waterdown is hosting over 30 vendors including sustainabl­e artisans, keto vendors, gluten free foods, zero waste options and more. Yoga Studio De La Sol is running $10 classes in the Terra greenhouse. Also available are talks including Create Your Vibe & Building Your Tribe; How to Start a Zero Waste Lifestyle and more. The market is free and is happening Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Terra Waterdown, #8 Fifth Concession E., Waterdown, just north of Clappison’s Corners.

Winter and wine

Cheers to the Twenty Valley Winter Winefest on this weekend in Jordan Village. The outdoor festival runs Friday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. in downtown Jordan. Admission is free, and includes live music featuring local artists, barrel rolling, wine and food sampling, fashion shows and winemakers challenges in the village. You can pick up tokens for food, beer, cocktails and wine during regular event hours at the event sales booth.

Game day

Hamilton Bulldogs take on the Sarnia Sting Saturday, 4 p.m., at FirstOntar­io Centre, 101 York Blvd. Tickets, $22 to $26, available at the box office.

Note: On Thursday, Jan. 16, 7 p.m., the 2020 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is at FirstOntar­io Centre. Tickets available at ticketmast­er.ca or at the box office.

RBG Speaker Series

Join host Peter Thoem on Sunday at 2 p.m. Thoem, a Royal Botanical Garden volunteer, will share his experience of expedition into the Tien Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan. Pre-registrati­on is required. Tickets are $12. rbg.ca

Swim

The weather isn’t looking good for outdoor skates so why don’t you head to a city pool instead? Leisure swim times are available this weekend at most local pools, some even have free leisure swim hours. Free hours are posted for the following pools: Ancaster Aquatic Centre on Sunday from 2:15 to 4 p.m.; Bennetto pool on Saturday from 2:45 to 4 p.m.; Riverdale pool on Saturday from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m.; Dundas Community pool on Sunday from 1:45 to 4 p.m.; H.G.
