Trump loyalists and alternate reality

-

Re: Trump is the greatest president (March 6)

Since Mr. Trump became the U.S. President I’ve been puzzled by the absolute loyalty he has inspired in tens of millions of people. I’ve often thought of the line about how we’re all entitled to our own opinions, but not to our own facts. In hearing the views of diehard Trumpists, I’ve sometimes wondered if we’re all living on the same planet.

And then, while sipping my morning coffee and pondering certain interpretations of quantum cosmology and string theory which allow for a multitude, indeed an infinity, of other unobservable universes unconnected to ours, I read the Comment page. And I imagined a multiverse, full of alien civilizations! In some of them, truths would be lies and facts would be false.

There is no physical evidence for such universes, much less any idea about how travel or communication could be possible among them.

But, I wondered, what if the impossible has happened? Are some of the letter-writers to The Spec actually from an alternate reality? That would explain a lot.
