Globally Local, a vegan fast food restaurant with locations in Toronto, Windsor, and London, is coming to Hamilton.

The new location of the fully plant-based comfort food chain will be located on Upper Wentworth Street, across the street from Lime Ridge Mall. It is expected to open during summer of this year.

Globally Local offers an assortment of fast food classics that are entirely vegan, including burgers, mac and cheese and shakes.

“We’ve had our food truck in The Hammer several times, with lines around the block, so we know that there is a huge appetite here for indulgent fast food that comes at a far lower cost to the environment, animals, our bodies, and our wallets,” said Globally Local cofounder James McInnes in a press release.

“We aim to bring the community an experience that is superior to old-school animal-based fast food in every way, from taste to nutrition to efficiency.”

Globally Local is expected to make a major expansion over the course of the next few months.

According to its official website, four locations are expected to open by this summer, adding to the three locations that are already open.

The company also said in a press release that it is planning on opening 20 total locations across North America by the end of the year.
