Interior decorator Christmas falls on March 12 this year in the Hamilton area, with two vintage and reuse shops reopening on the same day.

In Dundas, Graham & Brooks is moving into the former Valley City Manufacturing site at 64 Hatt St.

The business was previously in two locations, the salvage side operated out of a warehouse on Sherman Avenue North and the home, garden and cottage side out of a shop on Cootes Drive.

Husband-and-wife duo Lorna and John Parcher merged the two shops into a “diverse combination” of salvaged furniture and designed items in their new 6,000-squarefoot warehouse, John said.

Way across the Niagara Peninsula, in Beamsville, Second Chance Decor is moving into a new Bartlett Road location, north of King Street.

The retailer, focusing on Wayfair returns and discontinued items, promotes themselves as a low-cost decor shop.

Second Chance moved out of their previous home on Christie Drive at the end of January.

The Parchers are still preparing for their March 12 “soft opening” in Dundas, but couldn’t say no to some film industry buyers coming over to take a look at the salvage for movie props on Tuesday.

John said the new warehouse will have stylized display areas mixing the home and garden design-style elements with refinished furniture, such as painted cupboards that were once part of “The Good Witch” set.

With in-person shopping coming back, they’re eager to see customers back at the shop, but for both Graham & Brooks and Second Chance Decor, online stores are still available.
