Vote buying

-

If Doug Ford is buying our vote by refunding the mere $120 per year licence plate sticker fee, even for affluent people with two vehicles, then what are we to conclude about the Liberal promise of $10 per day child care, even for affluent families with two incomes? Or the NDP’s free dental care program? Or any one of a thousand other promises for more “free stuff” made by every political party on the occasion of every election?

The writer and others who wrote before him are free to donate their rebates, but unfortunately many taxpayers will need it to help cover the rising costs of groceries, gas and mortgages.

I am not a Doug Ford fan, but I must ask how many more of these ridiculous letters accusing him of buying votes do we need to read? Or how many more “Little Dougie” cartoons does Graeme MacKay need to draw? And how many more of either is The Spec permitted to publish before it must register as an official agent for the Ontario Liberal Party?
