Stolte meant well

Although I read both Joan Little’s column and the commentary by Shawna Stolte, I fail to fully understand this issue. It appears that in the interest of transparency, Ms. Stolte overstepped the bounds of confidentiality, but if she did so, I am sure she felt her actions were in the best interest of her constituents. I have found her to be a caring and conscientious counsellor and it upsets me greatly to think that this complex and obscure issue caused so much acrimony directed toward her by other counsellors that she no longer plans to run in the next election. This issue certainly will prove costly if it deprives us of a valued and respected representative. Joan Shewchun, Burlington
