Woke not broke II

-

My thanks go to Jeanette Pieczonka for “Woke not broke” (April 28), regarding the alleged breach of neutrality by Gerry Bowler from the Frontier Centre for Public Policy. I happily spent the last hour checking out: 1) the new meaning of “woke”; 2) the Frontier Centre; and 3) Gerry Bowler. All were new to me! One of my discoveries is that Mr. Bowler has a very long history of opinion writing, many of which are quite entertaining, and secondly, his own website describes his Frontier Centre connection as being a senior fellow “in his idle moments” ... where his research “shakes a fist at modern society and tells it to get off his lawn.” Hardly a politically or ideologically neutral stance! I do agree that time will tell as to whether Disney pays a price for taking the high road. But a move to Texas? Why do “frying pan” and “fire” come to mind? Louise Gibson, Hamilton
