City to give away 3,000 trees

The City of Hamilton is giving away 3,000 trees to its residents that can be planted on their private property as a part of a private tree giveaway. The initiative is aimed at offsetting emissions and enhancing biodiversi­ty. The event will be hosted between June 4 and 14 at the city’s forestry yard on Upper Ottawa Street and at Bayfront Park. Residents hoping to participat­e will need to register online at hamilton.ca/privatetre­egiveaway.
