More speed humps

-

Hamilton roads are not safe — I don’t believe that can be argued at this point. I see residents and elected officials calling on the police for more enforcement and negligent drivers calling for pedestrians to “pay attention.” Speed traps, radar-controlled roads, and speed limit signs do very little to slow drivers down. Why has nobody mentioned a very obvious feature of road design — the speed hump. Speed humps work — we see them on neighbourhood streets and in parking lots to great effect. Are there arguments against speed humps other than “they force vehicles to slow down?” Make them ubiquitous in our city and the roads will be safer for everyone.
