Search ends for assault victim

Hamilton police say they’re no longer searching for an alleged assault victim. Police issued an unusual public appeal last week, looking for Cody Comeau, after an alleged assault at Parkdale and Melvin avenues around 11 a.m. May 4. Police believed the 30-year-old was seriously hurt but left the area before emergency services arrived. Detectives have since learned that Comeau has been in contact with a family member. Police say they are satisfied he’s safe and are no longer actively searching for him.
