$1.5M of cocaine seized
A probe into a stolen SUV led Hamilton police to seize more than $1.5 million worth of cocaine Thursday evening.
Police said the seizure came after investigators executed a residential search warrant in the area of Rymal Road East and Upper Sherman Avenue.
Besides a stolen SUV — valued at about $7,000 — investigators say they found 13.2 kilograms of cocaine, three replica firearms, multiple fraudulent vehicle plates and indications of drug trafficking at the east
Mountain home.
Two women, both of Hamilton, were arrested and charged with several property- and drug-related offences, police said.
The locals — a 36-year-old and a 22-year-old — face a combined 18 charges, including five counts of possessions of counterfeit marks, property obtained by crime and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
