Now it’s a good idea

-

It is comforting to know that Coun. Tom Jackson has now decided in retrospect that the conversion to two-way traffic on John and James streets was a good idea. At the time, he was concerned and now says that he “lost some votes” over the conversions. This is leadership? Mr. Jackson’s view as a ward healer is that how the conversion would affect him and his “votes.” It’s time for these dinosaurs in council to move on and clear the way for more progressive leadership that has clear vision for the city as a whole, not only “how does this affect me.” We have a problem here. People are driving faster, more distracted and with less heed to others outside of the car. Pedestrians are dying at an alarming rate. True leadership identifies an issue and proceeds to do something about solving it. Dave Malcolm, Hamilton
