Addiction and overdose

-

I have recently lost my beautiful grandson to an overdose of drugs.

It seems to me it is a subject which is pushed under the rug.

I personally know four wonderful young people who have left us to soon due to this epidemic, and it is an epidemic.

I hear the politicians running for each party talking about working to fix other issues, but have yet to hear about what their plan is to address drug addiction.

People say it is their choice to use drugs, but I feel it is not their choice to overdose.

They do not use drugs with the intentions to die. I hear health-care people saying it is an illness.

They need to want to make the choice to stop using. How do they do that if it is an illness?

This epidemic is killing our children and needs to be addressed before we lose one more precious child.
