The pillars of life

Mr. Jones (May 9) laments the influence, dare I say dominance, of power and greed over hopes of survival. He is right. The three pillars of life are water, food and shelter and are the bedrock of the classic Hierarchy of Needs.

Sadly, this aspiration is being elbowed out of the play by a Lowerarchy of Greeds which favours avarice, ignorance, power and want.
