Common sense

-

How about a “humanist foreign policy?” I believe there is too much testosterone involved in world politics — too much power, display of power, power moves.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ill-advised Ukrainian territory grab is another example of male power gone awry.

Whatever the issue, could it have been solved by sitting down and working it out? Women, certainly, are not the folks to grab for tanks, bombs and guns to solve an issue. “Use your words,” your mother told you, “get along,” “share and work it out.” More oxytocin, less testosterone is needed in solving world problems. Yes, perhaps, that could be a feminist foreign policy, or just basic common sense. After all, there’s a climate emergency going on.
