Hamilton Chamber of Commerce announces award nominees
The 39th annual ceremony will be presented at an in-person gala on March 29

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for this year’s Outstanding Business Achievement Awards.
The 39th annual awards, which mark “excellence and growth” in the local business community, will be presented at an in-person gala on March 29.
In a news release, chamber president and CEO Greg Dunnett said this year’s finalists symbolize “the entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, and dedication” that helps move Hamilton forward.
“We are honoured to shine a spotlight on their achievements and recognize the impact they have on our local economy,” said Dunnett.
Birmingham Consulting, Electric Diner and Love My Mat Yoga Inc. are nominated in the small business category; Acorn Counselling, Gala Bakery and Guest Plumbing and HVAC in the mid-sized category; and Core Entertainment and Oakridge Landscape Contractors Ltd. in the large business bracket.
Vanessa Green of Greenlight Content, Spencer Stevenson of Stevenson Health and Wellness, and Ryan Moran of Locke & King and And Then What Inc. are nominated in the young entrepreneur category.
Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton and Shalem Mental Health Network are nominated in the not-for-profit division.
The Union of Painters and Allied Trades, based in Ancaster, will be presented the accessibility award for “supporting the creation of inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible workplaces.”
Sun Life and Canada Life will receive the century award, which recognizes businesses that have been in the community for more than 100 years.
Carole MacVicar, co-director of the Inner City Outreach Ministry at the Eva Rothwell Centre, will be this year’s recipient of the Hamilton Citizen of the Year Award.
And the inaugural winner of the Hamilton CEO of the Year Award will be PJ Mercanti of Carmen’s Group.
This year’s event will take place at 6 p.m. at Carmen’s Banquet Centre at 1520 Stone Church Rd. E.
