Hamilton police have released a series of surveillance videos from the scene of an armed home invasion in Dundas where two luxury vehicles were stolen this weekend.

Const. Krista-Lee Ernst said police were taking the proactive step of releasing the “crucial video footage” to help identify four male suspects and help detectives figure out what happened.

The four suspects forced their way into the home in the area of Hopkins Court and York Road around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, police said. The men, all believed to be Black and in their 20s, wore balaclavas, dark hooded sweatshirts and pants.

Victims were tied up and guns brandished. The victims escaped without any physical injury.

Video released shows a dark-coloured Dodge Ram pickup used by the four suspects parked at the end of the driveway. A camera inside the garage shows the masked assailants unplug a silver Porsche 992 open the garage and drive off.

A second vehicle, a navy blue Audi Q5 was stolen from the driveway. Both vehicles are electric.

Two other vehicles at the house were not taken.

“We continue to go through all the evidence presented to determine whether this was an isolated incident,” Ernst said.

It’s not clear whether the suspects knew the vehicles were there or whether stealing the vehicles was the sole motive for the robbery.

The suspects went throughout the home and there was some damage to property, which Ernst described as “mischief.” It’s not clear if anything else was stolen, but nothing substantial has been noted missing.

Detectives are asking residents in the area of Hopkins Court and York Road to review their security cameras between 4:15 and 5 a.m. for any signs of suspicious activity.

Police also want to hear from anyone driving in the area around that time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Ben Licop at 905-546-3851.
