March Break Family Fun with Hamilton Civic Museums Memories Made Here!

Hamilton Civic Museums, including five National Historic Sites, are offering family-friendly interactiv­e programmin­g during March Break from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring the whole family to Dundurn National Historic Site at 610 York Blvd. from March 9 to 17 for a guided tour of over 40 rooms in Dundurn Castle then head over to The Coach House Hayloft for free crafts and discover The Hamilton Military Museum with dress-up and engaging activities.

Discover Whitehern Historic

House & Garden at 41 Jackson St. W. from March 11 to 15 through the paintings and drawings of Ruby McQuesten. Whitehern on Canvas features an art studio with opportunit­ies for painting and crafts in The Stable.

Do away with screens and blinking lights and visit the Hamilton Museum of Steam

& Technology’s Unplugged Activity Centre at 900 Woodward Ave. from March 9 to 17 (Closed Monday). Drop-in to try some low-tech games and activities in The Woodshed, and experience a guided tour of Hamilton’s first Waterworks.

Have a Monumental March Break during a visit to Battlefiel­d House Museum & Park at 77 King St. W., from March 9 to 17. Dress up in early 19th century clothing, make a craft to take home, or try out the game of skittles during your guided tour of the Gage home.

Join Hamilton Children’s Museum staff at Ancaster Old Town Hall at 310 Wilson St. E, Ancaster on March 11, 12, and 15 for a Pour Paint Workshop and create three works of art to take home. On March 13 and 14, engage in a Cardboard Constructi­on Challenge and bring your creativity and imaginatio­n to build a one-of-akind structure. Pre-registrati­on is required for these events.

Join us at Fieldcote Memorial

Park & Museum at 64 Sulphur Springs Rd., Ancaster from March 11 to 15 and try your hand at making a Paper Quilt to take home. Solve quilt puzzles and learn about the history behind traditiona­l quilt patterns, and the stories they told.
