FOOD FESTIVALS

The Hamilton Poutine Feast will satisfy your cravings this weekend at Gage Park (1000 Main St. E.) with next-level poutine and gourmet add-ons like mini doughnuts. The event includes children’s activities and face painting. It continues Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Northern Heat Rib Series visits the Binbrook Fairground­s (2600 Regional Road 56) this weekend, May 17 to 20. Savour barbecue ribs from some of North America’s top purveyors. The event continues Saturday and Sunday from noon to 11 p.m., and Monday from noon to 7 p.m.

The Ancaster Horticultu­ral Society holds its annual plant sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ancaster Town Plaza, 71 Wilson St. W.

The Mount Hamilton Horticultu­ral Society’s annual plant sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church (61 Mohawk Rd. W.) Shop for annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs.

Bellstone Christian School’s

annual plant sale continues Saturday and Monday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days at 6025 White Church Rd., Mount Hope. The sale includes perennials of various shapes, colours and sizes.

The Grimsby Garden Club’s

Celebrate Victoria Day with a bang at Dundas Driving Park (71 Cross St.) on Sunday, presented by the Rotary Club of Dundas Valley Sunrise and supported by the City of Hamilton. Programmin­g runs from 4 p.m. to dusk and includes music, family activities, an artisan market, food trucks and, of course, a fireworks display at around 9:30 p.m. With limited on-site parking, guests are encouraged to walk or use public transit.

BOOK LAUNCH
