SKATING

The Hockey News - - THE STRAIGHT EDGE -

SVECHNIKOV: “Svechnikov has the more fluid stride, but it’s like picking the best green apple at the county fair,” said a scout. “They’re both good skaters.” With his big frame, Svechnikov is particularly difficult to handle on the rush when he puts his shoulder down and uses that speed.

ZADINA: “Powerful stride, great edges and maneuverability,” said one scout. “Big hips, wide legs, hard to knock off the puck. Not elite-quick like Nikolaj Ehlers when he was in Halifax, but he has a more powerful stride than Ehlers. He can blow through checks thanks to his power.” EDGE: SVECHNIKOV
