A LOCAL KID WHO grew up in the Broncos’ minor hockey system, Leicht was living out his dream. Despite almost always being the smallest player on the ice, he played with the heart of a lion. “For so many of our kids when they’re little this is their NHL,” Garinger said. “He was the type of kid, once you gave him a shot, you’d never get him out of the lineup because he worked so hard. He was the type of kid that it was all about the crest on the front of the jersey. If it needed to be done, he did it with no fear. It’s who he was as a person.”
