SENATORS
OTTAWA
MARK STONE has emerged as the Senators’ most consistent offensive producer – put him down for at least 25 goals and
60 points next season – and one of their best two-way forwards. As such, he’ll want to be paid accordingly. If he elects for arbitration, the team has the option of choosing a two-year deal. If he does not and the team elects to take him to arbitration, Stone has the option of accepting a one-year deal. Look for one of those two things to happen while both sides work on trying to strike a longterm deal before the arbitration decision comes down. The Senators could also extend Erik Karlsson’s contract after July
1, but a lot of signs point to them trading their superstar captain instead.
