GRITTY, THE FLYERS’ NEW mascot, may barely be two months old, but he already has more hockey cards than most other NHL mascots. Shortly after Gritty made his official debut – rappelling to the ice before the Flyers’ home opener – a card was available for purchase for one week via Upper Deck’s online E-Pack platform, as part of the Game Dated Moments set. At the Flyers’ next home game, the first 10,000 fans were given an oversized “Young Guns” rookie card of Gritty.
