Not sure about you, but it would be awesome to be at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Wash., for the Kraken’s pre-season game against the Edmonton Oilers on Oct. 1, for no other reason than to say you were at a place called Angel of the Winds Arena. After six pre-season and five regular-season games on the road, the Kraken will play their first home game at the Climate Pledge Arena on Oct. 23 against the Vancouver Canucks. The Kraken are not expected to be the Vegas Golden Knights 2.0, but neither were the ‘Golden Misfits’ supposed to be the Golden Knights 1.0. The Kraken went about building their roster in a completely different manner, keeping their powder dry in the expansion draft for free-agent acquisitio­ns, and the expectatio­n is they’ll be in the mix for a playoff spot in a weak Pacific Division.
