After 16 years on NBC, the NHL struck two separate television deals, one with ESPN for $410 million for the next seven seasons and another with Turner Sports for $225 million for the same time period, which will provide each team with an additional $2.83 million per season. Wayne Gretzky has signed on to be a studio analyst with Turner, while ESPN has a strong roster of personalities to populate all of its platforms. Grab the popcorn and expect fireworks the first time Chris Chelios and John Tortorella appear as analysts on the same ESPN broadcast.
