After 16 years on NBC, the NHL struck two separate television deals, one with ESPN for $410 million for the next seven seasons and another with Turner Sports for $225 million for the same time period, which will provide each team with an additional $2.83 million per season. Wayne Gretzky has signed on to be a studio analyst with Turner, while ESPN has a strong roster of personalit­ies to populate all of its platforms. Grab the popcorn and expect fireworks the first time Chris Chelios and John Tortorella appear as analysts on the same ESPN broadcast.
