CARLSBAD, Calif. — Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos as been in Atlanta for a year now and it’s fair to say things are going swimmingly.

The young Braves team made the post- season and won a division title for the first time since 2013.

Anthopoulos is shopping for a corner outfielder, a closer and a catcher this off- season. Of course, Anthopoulos has only been with the Braves for a year, but he couldn’t have joined the organization at a better time. With the winning, attendance is up, as are TV ratings in Atlanta.

On a personal note, Anthopoulos said he and his family have adjusted well to living in the U. S. south.

“I’d heard such good things, great place to raise a family, great place to be, everybody’s really nice and kind,” said the Montreal native who was the GM of the Blue Jays from late 2009 until 2015.

“Our kids really enjoy it, my wife does as well. Obviously my wife’s family is still all in Toronto, so hour- anda- half flight and they get to spend the summers back in Toronto. So I like the fact that ( the kids) get a little bit of a blend ( Canada- U. S. South).”
