Ar­rested on war­rants

A 33- year- old Wooler man was ar­rested by city po­lice Wed­nes­day on out­stand­ing war­rants for a hand­ful of charges.

Po­lice re­port of­fi­cers were called to a park­ing lot Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon in re­gards to a sus­pi­cious man in a parked car. A check re­vealed the man male was wanted by the Belleville Po­lice Ser­vice on war­rants for possession of metham­phetamine and fail­ing to ap­pear in court. He was also charged with a shoplift­ing in­ci­dent on

De­cem­ber 4 where a se­cu­rity of­fi­cer was threat­ened dur­ing an at­tempted ap­pre­hen­sion. In this in­ci­dent the man fled the area on foot. This re­sulted in charges of theft un­der $ 5,000 and ut­ter­ing death threats. There was an ad­di­tional charge of theft of gaso­line from a gas sta­tion on Novem­ber 30.

Zachary Vau­tour is sched­uled to ap­pear in court in early Jan­uary on these charges.
