Thank you for discussing how our governments are addressing climate change. I’m sure many readers are concerned about this, as I am, particularly as a parent and grandparent.
They deserve the full picture on what the Dec. 3 Point of View ‘ Ontario has credible climate change plan’ calls “this new tax Trudeau is imposing.” Of course, the costs will come back to us. The same can be said for the cost of regulations and subsidies the Conservatives are ( strangely) advocating instead of carbon pricing.
But revenue from the federal greenhouse gas pollution pricing goes not to Trudeau, but to us. No use denying this because everyone will discover it when they see the Climate Action Incentive Payment ( to them) when do their taxes. Maybe then more will see where the opposition to this is really coming from: the same that has been in the way of action to stop global warming the past 30 years — Big Fossils.
