Mi­nor Atom Red Devils split week­end tilts

The Pond at Rhino Sports & Play­land Mi­nor Atom Red Devils split a pair of Eastern Triple A Hockey League games on the week­end.

Sat­ur­day in Peter­bor­ough, the Devils gave up four unan­swered third pe­riod goals in a 4- 2 loss to the Petes.

Maclean Chisholm and Nate Rashotte scored for the Devils, while as­sists came from Grayson Hunt and Chisholm. Daniel Yeo took the loss in net.

Sun­day in Madoc, the Devils got pay­back on the Petes, edg­ing them 3- 2.

Chase Cy­bul­skie, Bray­den Davidson and Brody Har­ri­son scored for Quinte, with as­sists to Ryan Fo­ley, Hunt, Seth Scaletta, and Kee­gan Goulah. Char­lie Vos was in net for the win.

The Devils head to Whitby Sat­ur­day for a 2: 15 p. m. game. Sun­day they host the Oshawa Gen­er­als at 2: 15 p. m. in Madoc.

Mi­nor Midget

The Free Flow Petroleum Mi­nor Midget Red Devils started the new year off with a win, de­feat­ing the Jr. Fron­te­nacs 4- 2 Fri­day in the Lime­stone City.

Af­ter a score­less first pe­riod Ben White sniped a goal with an as­sist from Erik MacNeil early in the sec­ond pe­riod. Nathaniel Burelle fol­lowed up with an­other goal shortly there­after with as­sists from Zack Brooks and Daniel Michaud. Kingston an­swered back with two goals later in the sec­ond to tie up the game.

With the game wind­ing down, late in the third Michaud scored the game win­ner from a long stretch pass from MacNeil and Cole Laven­der. Ethan Broek net­ted the fourth goal from Gavin Camp. Alex Lu­cas was in net for the victory.

Wed­nes­day in Oshawa, the Devils blanked the Oshawa Gen­er­als 3- 0, but scor­ing re­sults were not made avail­able.

The Devils travel to Whitby Sun­day for a 5: 45 p. m. match with the Wild­cats.

Ma­jor Pee­wee

The Madi­son Ex­ca­vat­ing Ma­jor Pee­wee Red Devils dropped a tough 2- 1 de­ci­sion to the Wax­ers Fri­day in Markham.

Quinte took a 1- 0 lead in the first pe­riod with a goal from Jared Lang­don, as­sisted by Brody Par­tridge and Brae­dyn Rogers. The Wax­ers an­swered back two min­utes later to tie it and then took the 2- 1 lead a minute later.

Both the sec­ond and third pe­ri­ods went score­less as the Devils came up short. Mike McIvor was in net for the loss.

The Devils bat­tled the Gen­er­als to a 3- 3 draw Thurs­day in Oshawa, but scor­ing de­tails were not made avail­able. Sun­day they host the Clar­ing­ton Toros at 2 p. m. at the CAA Arena.

Ma­jor Ban­tam

The Fo­ley Bus Lines Ma­jor Ban­tam Red Devils trav­elled to St. An­drews Col­lege in Aurora Sun­day to take on the York Sim­coe Ex­press for their first game of 2019, and came away with a 4- 2 tri­umph.

The Devils would strike first and score the only goal of the open­ing pe­riod. In pe­riod two Quinte would find the back of the net two more times to take a 3- 0 lead head­ing into the third pe­riod. The Ex­press would score twice in the third pe­riod but Quinte would add one of their own and take the game 4- 2.

Sat­ur­day the Devils host the Clar­ing­ton Toros at 3: 45 p. m. at the Quinte Sports and Well­ness Cen­tre.

Ma­jor Midget

The McIn­roy Maines Con­struc­tion Ma­jor Midget Red Devils stayed busy over the hol­i­days with three games in the race for the play­offs in the par­ody driven East Di­vi­sion. The Devils took a tie, win and loss keep­ing pace with teams around them as the stretch drive with un­der 10 games left is in full swing.

On Dec. 29 at Trenton Com­mu­nity Gar­dens, the Devils bat­tled the Whitby Wild­cats to a 3- 3 tie. Karsten Leonard, Nick Kirby-Pal­liser and Nolan Daw­son scored for Quinte, while Matt Maas made 24 saves in the tie.

Jan. 3 in Oshawa, the Devils dusted the Gen­er­als 4- 0, with Sam Din­gle record­ing the shutout.

Khaden Henry, Kirby- Pal­liser, Leonard, and Kyle McMechan scored for the Devils.

On Jan. 5 in Trenton, the Devils dropped a 4- 2 loss to the Ajax-Pick­er­ing Raiders.

Kirby- Pal­liser and Cur­tis Dicks scored for Quinte.

The Devils tied the Kingston Jr. Fron­te­nacs 2- 2 Tues­day in De­seronto, but scor­ing de­tails were not avail­able. They host the Clar­ing­ton Toros Sat­ur­day at 7: 30 p. m. in Trenton.

Novice

The Walsh Fenc­ing Novice Red Devils dropped a 3- 1 de­ci­sion to the Petes Sat­ur­day in Peter­bor­ough.

Ry­der Hooey scored the lone goal for Quinte from Drew Wright, while Ry­er­son Swan took the loss in net.

Sun­day in Lit­tle Bri­tain, the Devils trounced the Cen­tral On­tario Wolves 9- 3.

Liam Marion, Lo­gan Broek and Ma­son VanHuizen each scored twice for the Devils, while Maeve Aird, Eas­ton Thomp­son and Trent Clow each scored once. As­sists came from Thomp­son ( 2), Brady Shep­herd ( 2), Clow ( 2), Marion ( 2), Brechyn Aird, and VanHuizen. Nathan McDon­ald earned the win in net.

The Devils host the Whitby Wild­cats Sun­day at 1 p. m. in Madoc.
