As the ul­ti­mate pur­veyor of jet-set style, Michael Kors had his pick of bold­face names to act as muse for his new Brook­lyn hand­bag line. But the three hand­bag styles— fea­tur­ing eques­trian de­tails like grom­mets and sad­dle shapes—were mod­elled after an­other set of icons: Warhol-era fac­tory girls. “The bags cel­e­brate that spirit of no-rules style and free-spir­ited glam­our that we ad­mire from those times,” Kors says. We spoke to Kors about some of the fa­mous women who have in­spired him over the years.
