Nov. 22 meeting
Wildwood Fire Hall – Council approved the proposal from BR2 Architecture for the design, tendering, and construction supervision of the proposed new fire hall in Wildwood slated to begin construction in 2017.
Robb Sanitary Force Main – Council for Yellowhead County awarded the contract for the Hamlet of Robb Sanitary Force main replacement to Streamline Industries in the amount of $ 709,398.00. The installation will be completed using Horizontal Directional Drilling. The accepted bid was the lowest of the eight bids received that met the contract’s requirements.
Declaration of Agricultural Disaster – Council declared a state of Agricultural Disaster due to the current condition of many of the crops in Yellowhead County. The decision was based on recent crop reports where data showed excessive moisture on many crops in Yellowhead County, as well as discussions with producers and visual inspections by staff.
Parkland County Fire Services Agreement – Yellowhead County will enter into a new Fire Services agreement with Parkland County where they will contribute $325,000 per year for services from Yellowhead County’s Fire Department. Yellowhead County will provide resources to incidents in Parkland in the geographical areas covered under the agreement.
Member-at-Large Board Appointments – Council appointed George Webster to the Heritage Advisory Board for a 3-year term and Ryan Gylander to the Agricultural Services Board for a 2-year term. These boards provide advice to Council and administration on issues specific to each of their respective boards and review and approve grants and funding to community organizations from funds budgeted by Council for activities related to these areas.
