New Principal for Evansview School, Evansburg

Evansview School welcomes a permanent member to their learning community as their current acting principal, Heidi Zadderey, recently accepted the official title of “Principal” for the upcoming year.

“We are very pleased to have Heidi move into a permanent position as Evansview’s new principal as of September 2017. She did a great job covering for Principal Mike Gray while he was on leave this semester, and she has now accepted the administra­tive role permanentl­y with Mike transferri­ng over to Wildwood School in the Fall,” noted Superinten­dent Gray.

Heidi is looking forward to continuing her work with such a welcoming and caring school community. “I’m really honoured to have the opportunit­y to join such an incredible staff and parent community who challenge, inspire, and support our students every day. The last few months have shown me that Evansview has a dedicated team that ensures all student’s needs are front and center and promote the belief that all students will be successful, feel connected, and inspired in a safe and caring environmen­t.”

She received her Bachelor of Education degree in elementary education with a concentrat­ion in science and math and began her teaching career with Golden Hills School Division in 2001. She moved over to Grande Yellowhead in 2008 to teach at Wildwood School and began her administra­tive career there in 2013 as Wildwood’s Assistant Principal. She transferre­d to Niton Central in 2015 to take on the Learning Support Teacher role until accepting the temporary position as Principal at Evansview School in January 2017. With her new appointmen­t, Heidi is ready to rollup her sleeves and begin unpacking in her new home. “I’m excited to continue the journey and am passionate about making a difference for students.”

Evansview School is a K to Grade 6 school located in Evansburg, AB and has a current population of 124 students.
