Western Alberta District RCMP CRU execute search warrant resulting in drugs and weapons charges
Two Grande Prairie residents are facing a number of Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs & Substances Act charges after the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a local residence Wednesday.
On May 9 2018, members of the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit in collaboration with Grande Prairie ALERT, Grande Prairie Police Dog Services, and Grande Prairie RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Grande Prairie. During the search police located drugs, firearms and cash.
David Guilbault, 41, of Grande Prairie has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Methamphetamine For The Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Marihuana For the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Heroin - Possession of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms) - Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x3) - Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime - Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition Readily Accessible
- Careless Storage of a Firearm (x2) - Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2)
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Less Than $5000
Mandy Dawn-Jean Wilks, 41, of Grande Prairie, has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Methamphetamine For the Purpose of Trafficking
Guilbault and Wilks have been released on bail to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on May 28, 2018.
