Whitecourt is now accepting applications to the Whitecourt Downtown %usiness Incubator 3rogram. The program, which is funded in part by the *overnment of $lberta’s Community and 5egional Economic Support (C$5ES) *rant, will provide support over a two-year term to assist entrepreneurs in creating and sustaining profitable businesses, and will help revitalize our downtown core. Council has created an $d +oc Committee to analyze local training needs. The $d +oc Community Training 1eeds $nalysis Committee will be responsible for identifying what community, business, and industry see as educational needs for current and future residents and employees. )urther information on member recruitment for the Committee has been posted to the Whitecourt website and can be found by searching “+ow To *et Involved.´ Council has adopted a 3ublic 3articipation 3olicy. The new policy outlines approaches the municipality will take to engage the public, and the circumstances of when the municipality will engage stakeholders. The policy outlines the important role citizens play in decision making, and is available for viewing on www.whitecourt.ca.
Twenty-five new street lights will be installed along Street from the Whitecourt )ire +all to 5otary 3ark, and within the 5otary 3ark parking lot.

Whitecourt circulated a request for proposals to mine and reclaim the Town owned gravel pit located east of Whitecourt. One proposal was received, however Council decided to reject the proposal.
