CN Rail wait times in Edson

The McLeod River Post - - News -

Special to the Post CN has committed to work with the Town of Edson to try to reduce wait times at key railway intersections in Town.

CN and Town of Edson representatives, met last week to explore options to reduce the incidents of blocked crossings in the town.

Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara says this is a great step forward. “We want to thank CN for listening to the concerns of our Council and community about this issue. Having these intersections opened up will greatly increase public safety and reduce frustration of motorists in the area. We’ve already seen a significant improvement since these changes were implemented approximately two weeks ago.”

CN values our relationships with the communities in which we operate,” said Thomas Smith, Public Affairs Manager at CN. “Edson is an important community to CN located along our busy corridor between Edmonton and the West Coast. We are working to minimize the delays motorists may face in Edson while we work to safely and efficiently move the goods so important to our economy and the lives of Canadians.” The Town of Edson will continue to monitor the situation and will keep working with CN to ensure they are able to operate effectively while maintaining open roadways for our residents.
