Trick or treats

- by June McInnes June McInnes

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

And with thanksgiving over the next occasion to celebrate is Halloween.

One of my favourite times of year, the nip in the air, the dark skies, dressing up, baking cookies and the giving of candy to trick or treaters, wonderful.

This year I’m baking and decorating cookies, I’m actually looking forward to it to be honest. The house is partly decorated, which I’m happy about as last year we didn’t have our belongings as they hadn’t been delivered, so I’m very glad this year is different.

I’m hoping that we get lots of trick or treaters and that some members of our family drop by to collect goodies, that’s one of the best parts, that and snuggling down on the sofa to watch some scary movies in my pyjamas.

Nothing nicer than snuggling up with a blankie a few snacks and family around you to watch some good films, films that invoke good memories of good times in the past.

(The dogs particularly enjoy the snack part).

After Halloween is over I shall be looking forward to Christmas and working towards that, I’ve pies to bake and more cookies to make, this year I’m giving more home made presents as they are made with love and you know who made them, they weren’t churned out of a factory en masse, they were painstakingly made with care and love.

Hopefully correctly tailored to each individual family member personally.

I’ve got some projects finished already and some in the pipeline, let’s hope I get them all done in time, the last thing I want is to be up on Christmas Eve desperately trying to finish something. But if I have to I will.

So, I’ve got a plan and hope it all works out, we shall see. Keep everything crossed for me won’t you.

As always be nice to one another,
