RCMP May­erthorpe – Males charged for armed robbery

On De­cem­ber 7, 2018 May­erthorpe RCMP laid charges against two males, in re­la­tion to an Armed Robbery that oc­curred in San­gudo.

On Novem­ber 30, 2018, em­ploy­ees at the Pit Stop gas station re­ported to the RCMP that two males en­tered the busi­ness, one in pos­ses­sion of a firearm. The two males di­rected the em­ploy­ees to com­ply with their de­mands, while they stole cash and cig­a­rettes from the busi­ness. Both males ex­ited the busi­ness and de­parted in a wait­ing ve­hi­cle driven by a third per­son. None of the em­ploy­ees were in­jured in this event.

RCMP in Grande Prairie ad­vised that per­sons which they had in cus­tody on un­re­lated mat­ters, matched the sus­pects sought in the San­gudo robbery. Through the as­sis­tance of the mem­bers of Grande Prairie De­tach­ment, May­erthorpe RCMP were able to lay charges against the fol­low­ing per­sons:

Ray­mond An­drew RODTKA (21) of Sex­smith, Al­berta

- Robbery

- Us­ing a Firearm in the com­mis­sion of an of­fence

- Wear­ing a Dis­guise while com­mit­ting an of­fence

- Point­ing a firearm (x4) Plus ad­di­tional firearms re­lated of­fences.

Kevin Daniel TURNER (30) of Grande Prairie, Al­berta - Robbery

Plus ad­di­tional firearms of­fence.

Both males have been re­manded into cus­tody pend­ing fur­ther ju­di­cial pro­ceed­ings.

The third per­son be­lieved to be in­volved in this mat­ter has yet to be lo­cated.
