RCMP Mayerthorpe – Males charged for armed robbery
On December 7, 2018 Mayerthorpe RCMP laid charges against two males, in relation to an Armed Robbery that occurred in Sangudo.
On November 30, 2018, employees at the Pit Stop gas station reported to the RCMP that two males entered the business, one in possession of a firearm. The two males directed the employees to comply with their demands, while they stole cash and cigarettes from the business. Both males exited the business and departed in a waiting vehicle driven by a third person. None of the employees were injured in this event.
RCMP in Grande Prairie advised that persons which they had in custody on unrelated matters, matched the suspects sought in the Sangudo robbery. Through the assistance of the members of Grande Prairie Detachment, Mayerthorpe RCMP were able to lay charges against the following persons:
Raymond Andrew RODTKA (21) of Sexsmith, Alberta
- Using a Firearm in the commission of an offence
- Wearing a Disguise while committing an offence
- Pointing a firearm (x4) Plus additional firearms related offences.
Kevin Daniel TURNER (30) of Grande Prairie, Alberta - Robbery
Plus additional firearms offence.
Both males have been remanded into custody pending further judicial proceedings.
The third person believed to be involved in this matter has yet to be located.
