EADRCRU RCMP make arrests for break & enters, seek wanted males
On Dec. 21, 2018, the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit’s (EADRCRU) apprehended two wanted offenders, Byron Hunter and Tyson Hunter on the outskirts of Edson.
Earlier that morning, through various intelligence sources, EADRCRU were able to determine that the wanted males were hiding in a motel in Edmonton. With the assistance of Edmonton Police Service (EPS) the two offenders were spotted.
“Our partnership with the Edmonton Police Service was crucial in this operation” says Constable Guillaume Wilson (EADRCRU). “Their quick action and willingness to assist in our investigation lead to the success of this operation.”
The truck the wanted males were driving was eventually stopped with a spikebelt just east of Edson with the assistance of the Evansburg Detachment, Edson Detachment, and Traffic Services.
The wanted males tried evading police by driving off of Highway 16 onto service roads. The vehicle was then boxed-in and the males were arrested without incident.
