6urvey data show the poverty rate in Canada in decreased by per cent since , which means the Government of Canada is making significan­t progress towards meeting its Poverty Reduction 6trategy goal of reducing poverty by per cent by .

7he Canada Child Benefit, the Guaranteed ,ncome 6upplement and the Canada Workers Benefit are making a real difference in the lives of Canadians by putting more money directly in their pockets.

7he Canadian ,ncome 6urvey will outline the impacts of the C29,'pandemic on poverty. 7he Government of Canada is encouraged by the estimates also released by 6tatistics Canada which are showing that the Canada (mergency Response Benefit and other government measures were effective in preventing declines in employment income for many Canadian families.
